Open Day: Saturday 17 October 2026
Campus tours, sample sessions, and an admissions desk: the autumn open day at Kendahouse, Saturday 17 October, 10:00–15:00.
Kendahouse, 4th Floor, Nairobi
Twice a year we open the fourth floor for a full day: sample sessions running on the hour, tutors in the corridors, and the admissions desk staffed from open to close. If you are comparing programmes or deciding whether evening study fits your week, this is the cheapest possible way to find out: it costs an afternoon and no paperwork.
Who it is for
Prospective learners at any level, parents of school-age applicants, and teams scoping the workplace Kiswahili programme. No booking is needed for general entry; the sample sessions have seats, so arriving early helps.
The day
- 10:00 · Doors open. Coffee, the full programme catalogue, and tutors to talk to about levels and timetables.
- 10:30, 11:30, 13:00 · Sample sessions. Three 45-minute taster sessions per language block: French, Japanese, Spanish and Kiswahili run on rotation through the day. Absolute-beginner groups, so no preparation needed.
- 11:00 · Placement test walkthrough. What the test covers, how it is marked, and what the result changes. Twenty minutes, then questions.
- 12:00 · Campus and LMS tour. Classrooms, the self-study room, and a look at how online sessions run from the same floor.
- 14:00 · Credentials session. Certificates and diplomas explained side by side, with the assessment formats on the table.
- All day · Admissions desk. Bring your questions; leave with a recommended level and the next intake dates.
Practicalities
Kendahouse, 4th Floor, Nairobi. The day runs 10:00 to 15:00 and entry is free. Validation is available for parking in the building; the nearest matatu stages are a short walk away. Sessions start on time: the taster sessions are the part worth arriving early for.
Bring nothing except the questions you already have. Sample session seats are held for the 10:30 block until 10:20.
Places for the sample sessions are limited. Email admissions@kiflaps.ac.ke or use the contact page and we will reserve a seat for you. Walk-in entry to the open day itself is always open.
